This Malbec Sangria is more than a drink—it’s a celebration of culture, heritage, and the spirit of collaboration. Originally created for Fiesta Tampa Bay, this recipe was inspired by a past partnership with fellow Hispanic women entrepreneurs who came together to highlight the richness of our community through food, wine, and shared experiences.

During the planning stages of the event, I knew I wanted to contribute something that felt personal. As I wandered the wine aisle looking for inspiration, I realized this was an opportunity to support a fellow small business by featuring an Argentinian Malbec—a wine deeply rooted in Latin heritage and perfectly suited for sangria.

The result was a vibrant, fruit-forward Malbec Sangria that quickly became a crowd favorite. It’s bold, balanced, and infused with fresh citrus and berries—just the way a proper sangria should be.

🍷 Why Malbec?

Malbec’s deep, rich character and subtle spice make it a standout base for sangria. It holds up beautifully against the acidity of citrus and the sweetness of seasonal fruit, creating a smooth and complex flavor profile.

If you’re looking for a bottle, seek out Argentinian Malbec—wines from Catena Zapata are a great option and widely regarded as some of the best in the region.

🍊 Domestic Gourmet Sangria Tip:

Let the sangria chill for at least 4 hours (overnight is even better!) to allow the flavors fully meld. Serve over ice with a splash of sparkling water, a sprinkle of cinnamon, or a sprig of fresh mint for a refreshing finish.

iBuen provecho!

Notes

Notes on how to include your child(ren): Sharpen those fine motor and cognitive thinking skills by tasking your little chef(s) with zesting, storing, and freezing the citrus fruits.
Your older chef(s) could practice their knife skills by slicing the citrus fruit.
***Assign this task at your own discretion, using your judgment on your child(ren)’s ability, and do so at your own risk.***
