What is included?
- Annatto Oil, 12 fl oz: ready-to-use aceite de achiote made with organic high-oleic sunflower oil and organic annatto seeds.
- Adobo, 5 oz: savory all-purpose seasoning with garlic, onion, cumin and oregano.
- Sazón, 2 oz: annatto-first seasoning for warm color and earthy flavor.
- Pasteles paper, 1 lb: 12 × 18-inch sheets, approximately 55+ sheets. Sheet count can vary because paper is sold by weight.
- Cotton butcher’s twine, 800 ft: 100% cotton twine for securing wrapped preparations.
The seasonings contain salt. Adobo contains cumin, and Sazón contains onion. Banana leaves, masa, fillings and other fresh recipe ingredients are not included.
Plan a pasteles-making day
Plan quantities for your batch: this box contains 1 lb of paper and 12 fl oz (1½ U.S. cups) of annatto oil. The linked pasteles recipe lists 2 lb of paper and uses 1½–2 cups of oil in the masa, plus oil elsewhere in preparation. You will need extra paper and oil for that full recipe. Add extra pasteles paper and annatto oil as needed.
